RKS Bhadauria, who is currently the Vice Chief, will take up the post of Chief of Air Force after BS Dhanoa retires on 30 September.
The Ministry of Defense on Thursday announced the name of the next Air Force chief. Air Vice Chief Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria will be the next Air Force Chief in place of Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa.
This was announced by the chief spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense. RKS Bhadauria, who is currently the Vice Chief, will take up the post of Chief of Air Force after BS Dhanoa retires on 30 September.
Interestingly, Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria is also retiring on the same day as BS Dhanoa. However, he has now been announced to be appointed as the new Air Force Chief. Please tell that now his tenure will be increased by three years.
Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria is an alumnus of National Defense Academy, Pune. He has flown more than 4250 hours and has experience in 26 different types of fighter aircraft.
Bhadauria served as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) in Southern Air Command from March 2017 to August 2018. He also served as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Training Command from August 2018. Then in May this year he assumed the post of Deputy Chief of Air Force.
During the 36 years of his career, RKS Bhadoria was awarded several medals. These include the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Air Force Medal and Param Vishisht Seva Medal.
Rafael has blown Bhadoria
Air Marshal Bhadoria was part of the negotiating team for the purchase of 36 Rafale fighter jets with France. Rafael is also present in the fighters he has flown. After flying Rafale, he also said that it is a great aircraft. With its arrival in India, the strength of the country’s air force will increase manifold.
RKS Bhadauria is the first Indian Air Force officer to fly Rafale fighter jet and has also played an important role in finalizing the agreement with France for jets.
He also gave a statement in February on the ongoing controversy over the Rafale deal. He said that the deal was done after the most negotiations. There was no disagreement about this deal. He said this when it was being claimed that some officials of the Ministry of Defense objected to it during the deal.
Rafael will come in Bhadoria’s tenure
On October 8, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will fly to France to take the first Indian Rafale fighter aircraft manufactured by French firm Dassault Aviation.
Till earlier there were reports that these aircraft are going to be delivered on 20 September. Government sources say that 8 October is important for two reasons. Actually, that day is both Dussehra and Air Force Day.
